Spring marketing ideas you need to try

by | 4 February 2025 | Marketing

Spring is a season of new beginnings, offering businesses a prime opportunity to thrive amongst the increase of potential customers all enjoying the longer days and warmer temperatures. With spring on the horizon, now is the perfect time to plan some seasonal marketing activities that reflect this exciting time of year! In this post, we will be exploring a range of spring marketing ideas to inspire you and to help your business flourish in the season of new possibilities.

Celebrate national days

Spring time in the UK runs from March to May and during this time there are a whole host of nationally celebrated days, including Easter, Mothers Day and International Women’s day. One of the most popular awareness days that is celebrated during the springtime is National Earth day which takes place annually on April 22nd and is recognised as a day of conscious effort to improve sustainability practices and look after our environment.

This may be a great time to spotlight your business’s dedication to sustainability by highlighting your eco-friendly products or initiatives. Perhaps you’ve revamped your product packaging to be more environmentally friendly, or maybe you’ve switched to a more sustainable supplier. Whether you’ve minimised single-use plastic or taken other steps towards sustainability, now is the perfect time to showcase these efforts. With a growing number of environmentally conscious customers seeking out sustainable businesses, spring time presents an excellent opportunity to promote your environmentally friendly products and practices – and appeal to this ever expanding market.

If you choose to promote your business’ sustainable efforts on social media, make sure to include relevant hashtags to drive engagement. This can also be a great way to get involved in online discourse and highlight your organisation as one that is environmentally conscious and committed to making positive change.

Remember it is important to be genuine and consistent in your sustainability efforts. Consumers are more clued in than ever to identifying  green-washing and ethical lip-service. We’ve outlined the importance of sustainable business practices in a previous post and how it ties into an ethical marketing strategy.

Host a workshop or tutorial

The longer, brighter days of spring offer a great opportunity for businesses to engage with their communities. A popular method of doing this is by hosting workshops and tutorials that relate to your products or services. These interactive events not only provide a fun and engaging experience for your customers but is also a great way to market your business and build strong connections with customers.

Some examples of workshops include: a home decor business offering workshops on crafting beautiful spring-themed centrepieces, a craft shop hosting tutorials on assembling festive Easter hampers, or a florist leading classes on creating stunning spring bouquets. For service-based businesses, consider offering workshops or online tutorials that teach customers new skills. For instance, you could demonstrate techniques for repurposing or up-cycling items (which also aligns perfectly with the theme of sustainability!)

Hosting a workshop is a great way to showcase your expertise and it is also provides fantastic exposure for your products and services. While organising these events may require time and preparation, they can prove to be a fantastic marketing tool for businesses.

Get involved in your community

Building on the importance of community engagement, networking within local communities is a great way of marketing your business, goods and services. A meaningful way to increase visibility and contribute towards your local community is by sponsoring community projects or events. Consider supporting initiatives such as charity walks, local fairs, community garden projects, your local school fair or beach clean-ups.

Businesses can contribute towards these endeavours through financial support or donations of services, products or volunteer time. Often times, events will promote their sponsors in their own marketing materials which results in increased exposure for the businesses supporting them. This engagement not only benefits the community but also builds positive perceptions of your brand, establishing its reputation as a dedicated advocate of community led endeavours.

Collaborate with others

Spring is a time associated with new possibilities and fresh ideas, making it the perfect time to explore collaborative opportunities with other artists or businesses.  Why not consider working alongside another artist or business to create exciting limited-edition products? Collaborations are a fantastic marketing strategy that provide so many benefits, especially for small businesses, as it is a great tool in amplifying brand visibility. By joining forces, businesses can tap into each other’s networks, resources, and expertise, allowing them to reach new audiences more effectively, which otherwise may have been unattainable.

Moreover, such collaborations can improve a business’s credibility. When customers see businesses partnering with reputable artists or businesses, it encourages trust and confidence in the brand. This boost in credibility can lead to increased customer interest, ultimately improving visibility and business growth. Overall, collaborations offer a win-win scenario for all parties involved!

As the season of spring approaches, now is the perfect time to spruce up your marketing strategy and we hope our marketing ideas inspire you to try something new! So, seize the season of renewal and let your business bloom!
