#BeBoldForChange

I was recently asked by Sussex Life magazine ‘How important is it for women to support each other in business?’ but was limited to 180 words for my answer (which also had to include two more answers, three questions in total), so not much space to answer really. However, the piece was designed very well actually because it made me answer succinctly and also, there wasn’t just my answer to consider. 23 other business women also answered this question and if you combine all of our answers, the result is a powerful and inspirational litany of reasons for women to support each other in business and includes words and phrases such as:
Leading Ladies of SussexConfidence
Champion women
Challenges
Powerful women
Support is vital
Female-led
Equality
Multitasking
Symbiotic
Success
Support
Respect

That’s pretty awesome, don’t you think? One of the other questions was ‘What is the best advice you’ve ever been given’? My answer contained the word ‘brave’ which is synonymous with bold and is something we try to be as a female-run company. We have to be brave and bold in a saturated and competitive market not only for ourselves and our own company but also to serve our clients in the best way possible. We don’t exclusively work with women, not at all; but we do work with a high percentage of women owned businesses – I suppose it’s a natural fit for us in many ways. We also support women in business both through networking and partnering with women who run their own companies offering services we need for ourselves and for our clients. This includes photography, virtual admins and business coaching, to name a few.

#BeBoldForChange is this year’s theme for International Women’s Day.

“International Women’s Day celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women. Call on the masses or call on yourself to help forge a better working world – a more inclusive, gender equal world.”

Well, that is certainly a worthy cause and one we’re proud to be a part of. We see achievements by women in business every day and love that we’ve helped them on their journey to achieve their dreams and business goals. It’s something that equally drives us and inspires us. We’d love to feature all the many wonderful business women we work with but that would make this blog post far too long. Look out for them in our Twitter and Facebook posts instead and #BeBoldForChange yourselves.
